Khloé was honest and explained her reasons behind her initial refusal to commit: "'I need to make sure it's a totally different relationship because I want to be proud to say that I'm marrying someone" she recalled. "And so I said, 'I don't feel comfortable accepting this right now because I'm not excited to tell my family,' and as hurtful as it probably was for him to hear that, it was the truth. I'm never going to accept something or give someone false hope, and I told him that."
