Hitman, the new action and dark comedy film from director Richard Linklater, released a new trailer this Thursday, April 18 on YouTube and other digital platforms. Also, the official Netflix account released the teaser where you can see renowned actor Glen Powell as fake hitman for hire Gary Johnson falling in love with Maddy Masters (Adria Arjona), a sensual woman who hires him to assassinate her husband Ray (Evan Holtzman).
In the two-and-a-half minute video, you can see how Gary and Maddy start a romance as they get to know each other. On the other hand, to mislead the authorities, Gary is a college professor in the mornings wearing a wig with long hair, false teeth, glasses and a short-sleeved shirt that make him look different.
In another scene, the protagonist changes his hairstyle, puts on a tuxedo and slicks back his hair for his first meeting with Maddy, who hands him money in an envelope while explaining how she can find her husband to annihilate him. The two are then shown dancing in a disco, walking in the park and at a weapons training session where their attraction is evident.
Finally, the trailer shows Glen Powell in intimate scenes with actress Adria Arjona (Ricardo Arjona's daughter) while working as a hitman. Similarly, Powell is also a quiet professor tending his plants while living the double life of an assassin. "Who do you think Hitmanis ?" he expresses.
Hitman will hit select theaters in the United States on May 24. The film will also stream on Netflix (North America) on June 7.
In fact, the comedy-action film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival on September 5, 2023, receiving excellent reviews for director Richard Linklater.
