According to recent news, Isabella Rossellini ('Conclave') will star alongside Jeremy Allen White ('The Bear') and Mandy Patinkin ('The Artist'), in a surreal drama that will blend both live action and stop motion animation in new ways, according to the people involved in the project.
'The Painted Bride' will follow the life of Elisha (Allen White), a family man with a simple day to day life that is obsessively working on a project for his ill father and his son, as his life unravels when he has to go back to his hometown.
In the words of the filmmaker, 'The Painted Bride' is about masculinity and generational teachings from fathers to sons, but ultimately about love above everything.
We don't know much more datils about the film, or what role will Oscar nominee Isabella Rossellini be taking, but some of the production companies involved include Public Records, that already worked with Zagar for his debut 'We The Animals', Madant and Present Company, with Charades and New Europe taking care of the distribution worlwide (besides the USA).
Details about when this will start shooting are unknown, but considering the success of 'We The Animals' at Sundance, it's probable that we'll see this in either 2026 or 2027's festival circuits.
