We have only needed a few days since its formal announcement, which was even accompanied by its theatrical release date, June 21, to be able to see the first preview of what will be the new film in which Emma Stone, as well as Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley, will once again be at the orders of Greek director and screenwriter Yorgos Lanthimos after doing the same in Poor Things, but this time for Kinds Of Kindness.
The film is a fable in the form of a triptych that tells three stories: that of a trapped man trying to take control of his own life; that of a policeman terrified because his wife, who had disappeared at sea, has returned and looks like someone else; and finally, the story of a woman determined to find someone with a special gift, destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader. Directed by Oscar nominee Yorgos Lanthimos, Kinds Of Kindness stars two-time Academy Award winner Emma Stone, most recently for her role in Poor Things, alongside fellow Oscar nominees Willem Dafoe, Jesse Plemons and Hong Chau.
Margaret Qualley, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie and Hunter Schafer are also part of the film. Lanthimos and Efthimis Filippou wrote the original screenplay, making this their fourth collaboration (The Lobster, The Killing of a Sacred Deer).
Yorgos is a talented director, who wastes no time when it comes to his productions. For example, 'Poor Things,' his most recent film was only released in December of last year. The incredible story follows the fantastic evolution of Bella Baxter (Stone), a young girl brought back to life by the brilliant and unorthodox scientist Dr. Godwin Baxter (Willem Dafoe). Under Baxter's protection, Bella is eager to learn.
