However, Warner Bros. has declined to comment on the project. While Warner Bros. has had early discussions about a Game of Thrones movie, they have yet to attach a director or writer, and the film's creative direction remains unclear. It is unclear how the movie will differ from the popular HBO series, which is based on George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book series. This potential new project comes five years after the conclusion of the acclaimed HBO series, Game of Thrones, created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. The series garnered significant viewership and won 59 Emmy Awards, becoming a cult show for millions of people around the world.

British actor Theo James, currently leading Netflix's action series, The Gentleman, is going to lead the cast of The Hole, a horror film directed by acclaimed filmmaker Kim Jee-woon (I Saw the Devil).
