DreamWorks Animation has officially announced that Shrek 5 is in development, with a scheduled release date of July 1, 2026. Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz will once again lend their voices to the lead characters, Shrek, Donkey and Fiona, respectively. The film will be directed by Walt Dohrn, who has been involved in previous installments of the franchise. In information published by Variety in 2018, it was revealed that Universal Pictures commissioned Chris Meledandri, founder of Illumination, to oversee the revival of the Shrek and Puss in Boots franchises. Meledandri was emphatic about keeping the original voice performances, considering that these were central to the success of the previous films.

Contemporary cinema has remarkably explored the thrilling universe of racing in recent years. Landmark examples abound, but perhaps none as outstanding as Ford vs Ferrari, directed by James Mangold (known for films such as Logan), which features stellar performances by Matt Damon (Oppenheimer) and Christian Bale (Batman Begins). Marvel Television has released the first trailer and poster for its new series, Agatha All Along, which centers on the character Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn. Bad news for fan of the DC Universe: the series about Arkham Asylum is not going ahead at Max. Or at least for now. Then it mutated and they decided to focus on the Arkham Asylum asylum, and now nothing, it disappears from the future of the new DC Universe that James Gunn and Peter Safran are building.

Sam Wilson picked up the baton from Steve Rogers as Captain America in the 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' series, whose title changed to 'Captain America and the Winter Soldier' once the character played by Anthony Mackie felt worthy enough to inherit the shield and, with it, his new superheroic identity. Following Chris Evans' retirement at the end of 'Avengers: Endgame', Mackie will be in charge of continuing his legacy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the fourth solo installment of one of Marvel's flagship superheroes, 'Captain America: Brave New World', which will hit theaters in 2025.

'Afraid' is a film that doesn't have a demon or a ghost as a monster a la the smart house from 'The Simpsons' episode of 'The Little House of Horror'. The first teaser trailer for 'Afraid' certainly has all the horror movie platitudes, including the obligatory car crash or the scare when the door opens, but perhaps the most disturbing thing about the teaser is that the 'monster' speaks in the same soothing voice as Alexa.

Less than two weeks before its theatrical release, NEON shared a final trailer for Longlegs, its next horror film starring Maika Monroe (It Follows) and Nicolas Cage. This feature film, directed by Oz Perkins, had an eye-catching marketing campaign whose trailers focused on visual and audio impact, leaving more questions than answers about what to expect from the project.
