The series will maintain the previous mechanics and will take place in another location of the same chain of exclusive resorts, with a new cast. The news was made official through several media outlets after three episodes of the second season were aired and will conclude on December 11, with a total of seven episodes. In last year's television awards season, The White Lotus was one of the series that stood out the most. In fact, the series garnered as many as 20 Emmy nominations, of which it won 10. Among the awards it won were Best Anthology Series, Screenplay, Directing and eight mentions for acting categories.

The actress is currently the only one of the first season that participates in the second season but nothing gives certainty if she will be in the third one. Although The White Lotus began as a small project, the series is now in its third season, becoming an anthology series due to the success it received in its first year. In fact, the series now represents one of Warner Bros Discovery's highest-rated products, with 7.6 million viewers for the second season's debut, the most-watched title on the HBO Max platform.
In its initial season, the series takes place in Hawaii, and from the very first episode, it keeps the mystery of who is in the coffin. Maintaining the theme of wealthy people staying in a five-star hotel, the second season takes place in Sicily. Mike White will return to creative control of the project.
