'Alien, the Eight Passenger' was one of those films that at the time of its release, June 1979 in the United States, marked a before and after in horror cinema. Under the direction of Ridley Scott, its success led to three sequels, all starring an iconic Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley, which were split between James Cameron ('Aliens: The Return'), David Fincher ('Alien 3') and Jean-Pierre Jeunet ('Alien: Resurrection'). After the break from the two prequels, again with Scott at the controls, 'Prometheus' and 'Alien: Covenant', the franchise expands by proposing a new installment set between the events narrated in chapters one and two.
