The film Joker: Folie à Deux is one of the most anticipated movie events of the year, and given the high violence content of its predecessor, it's no wonder that the sequel, starring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, has received an R (or "adults only") rating from the Motion Picture Association, it was reported Wednesday. The MPA's daily newsletter, explains that the reasons are due to "some strong violence, language throughout, some sexuality, and brief full nudity" throughout the film. The features suggest a reduction in explicit content unlike 2019's Joker, whose categorization is "strong bloody violence, disturbing behavior, brief sexual language and imagery."
