James Gunn has posted on Instagram the official logo for the 'Superman' movie starring David Corenswet. With the first official image of the suit and leaks from the Cleveland shoot, fans had already more or less seen the emblem, though now we get to see it in great detail. The release has made it just a year before its premiere, which will be on July 11, 2025. This is how Gunn details it in his post, where he points out that in one year the new DC's Superman will hit theaters: "In exactly one year #Superman opens worldwide".

The Minions are the goose that lays the golden eggs for Illumination, which wants to make the most of them. It's no surprise, then, that the company has confirmed with Universal that development of Minions 3 is already underway, and that the film even has a confirmed release date (via The Hollywood Reporter). The news comes just days after the successful debut of Despicable Me 4. The film which has already grossed more than $255 million worldwide. Minions 3 will serve as a continuation of the spin-off subseries consisting of The Minions (2015) and Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022).

Although Marvel is in full promotion of 'Deadpool and Wolverine', its only film bet of this 2024, the Multiverse machinery continues at full speed, so they have just released the first teaser of what will be their next film of Phase 5: 'Captain America: Brave New World'. Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, is now the new patriotic superhero taking over for Chris Evans. After he raises the iconic shield at the end of 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' to become a full-fledged Captain America, he will still face some reluctance. "You're not Steve Rogers," Thaddeus Ross, now played by Harrison Ford, the newly elected president of the United States, reminds him.

DreamWorks Animation has officially announced that Shrek 5 is in development, with a scheduled release date of July 1, 2026. Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz will once again lend their voices to the lead characters, Shrek, Donkey and Fiona, respectively. The film will be directed by Walt Dohrn, who has been involved in previous installments of the franchise. In information published by Variety in 2018, it was revealed that Universal Pictures commissioned Chris Meledandri, founder of Illumination, to oversee the revival of the Shrek and Puss in Boots franchises. Meledandri was emphatic about keeping the original voice performances, considering that these were central to the success of the previous films.

Marvel Television has released the first trailer and poster for its new series, Agatha All Along, which centers on the character Agatha Harkness, played by Kathryn Hahn. The series will premiere its first two episodes on September 18 exclusively on Disney+. This production is a spin-off of Marvel Studios' critically successfull series, WandaVision, making its debut with a double premiere.

The first official trailer for Gladiator II, the long-awaited sequel directed once again by Ridley Scott and starring Paul Mescal (Normal People) and Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) in the lead roles, was released this morning. Bad news for fan of the DC Universe: the series about Arkham Asylum is not going ahead at Max. Or at least for now. As Variety reports, the series isn't necessarily dead altogether, but this version of the project is not in DC Studios' production plans. Antonio Campos ('The Staircase') was to serve as showrunner-executive producer as well as director. The series started as a spin-off of 'The Batman' similar to 'The Penguin', but focused on the Gotham police. Then it mutated and they decided to focus on the Arkham Asylum asylum, and now nothing, it disappears from the future of the new DC Universe that James Gunn and Peter Safran are building.

Sam Wilson picked up the baton from Steve Rogers as Captain America in the 'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' series, whose title changed to 'Captain America and the Winter Soldier' once the character played by Anthony Mackie felt worthy enough to inherit the shield and, with it, his new superheroic identity. Following Chris Evans' retirement at the end of 'Avengers: Endgame', Mackie will be in charge of continuing his legacy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the fourth solo installment of one of Marvel's flagship superheroes, 'Captain America: Brave New World', which will hit theaters in 2025.
