The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) release schedule has undergone a restructuring that brings less than encouraging news for 2024. Following the expected SAG-AFTRA announcement that ended the actor strikes in Hollywood, Disney released the reset of release dates for Phase 5, altering the landscape significantly. The most notable change is Deadpool 3, initially scheduled for May 3, 2024, which will now debut on July 26, 2024. The news marks a notable precedent, as not since 2012, has a single release year seen a Marvel Studios film, when The Avengers was the only title on release.

As part of its digital event, Geeked Week, Netflix revealed a first look at its upcoming animated series inspired by the Jurassic Park universe. In fact, this new spin-off of the franchise goes by the name Jurassic World: Chaos Theory.

Disney and Pixar have announced the release of their new film, Inside Out 2, set to hit theaters in June 2024. The sequel to the acclaimed 2015 original film will pick up the story of Riley, who is now a teenager after turning 13, and will feature a significant shift in her inner world with the introduction of the first of four never-before-seen emotions: Anxiety. Collider confirmed the news, indicating that the streaming platform is working on the expansion of this intellectual property. According to Forbes, the new film's budget surpasses iconic franchise titles such as The Avengers, which had $225 million; placing it behind only Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Avengers: Infinity War, with $400 million, $365 million and $300 million respectively. With that large figure, not only does it have to surpass a $540 million mark to be considered financially successful, but it must also navigate the advertising and marketing limitations imposed by the actors' strike in Hollywood (SAG-AFTRA), in addition to dealing with the current saturation of the superhero theme at the box office.

With a more complex look at the chaotic multiverse, the first season of Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston, was a milestone for the Marvel universe, making fans aware of the need for rigorous timeline management to prevent the proliferation of character variants, such as the "God of Lies and Mischief" himself. This backstory laid the groundwork for the second installment of the series, which, despite expectations, is experiencing a turnaround in audience reception upon its return to Disney+.
